The Treatment FAQ's

GENERAL QUESTIONS

If you are new to The Treatment or it’s your first time doing an injectable or laser treatment with us, yes. A quick consultation lets us look at your skin, talk through your goals, and map out a plan (and timeline and cost) that actually fits you, rather than guessing over the phone.

Every injector at The Treatment is a licensed medical provider: physician associate, nurse practitioner, or registered nurse. Our founder, Erin Jensen, PA-C, trained at USC Keck, was a GAIN trainer, is a national trainer for Allergan’s Medical Institute, and is one of the most requested SkinVive trainers in the country. She personally handpicks every injector on our team and holds the practice to the highest safety standards, backed by a dedicated director of safety. You’re always welcome to ask about a specific provider’s license and training, or look them up through your state’s PA or nursing board.

You can book online through our website or contact your nearest location directly. New to injectables, lasers, or a specific treatment? We recommend starting with a consultation so we can build a plan around your goals.

Yes, our Mint Membership program includes perks across treatments and locations. Ask about it at your next visit or check the Mint Membership page for current details.

A conversation first. We’ll talk through your skin goals, medical history, and what you’re hoping to get out of treatment, then build a plan together. No pressure to book anything on the spot. BUT if you’re ready, so are we! Most of the time we treat during the first time consultation

Botox, Fillers & Injectables

Pricing depends on the number of units, the area treated, and your provider, so it varies person to person. The best way to get an accurate number is a quick consultation, where we can look at your goals and give you a real quote, not a rough estimate.

Same story as Botox, filler pricing depends on the product, the amount used, and the area being treated. Book a consultation and we’ll walk you through options and pricing based on what you’re actually trying to achieve.

Botox (and other wrinkle relaxers) work by softening the muscle movement that causes lines, think forehead lines, crow’s feet, and the “11s” between your brows. Dermal fillers add volume, so they’re used for areas like lips, cheeks, temples, and smoothing deeper folds. A lot of clients use both together for a more comprehensive result.

We carry both Juvederm and Restylane at every location, and the honest answer is neither brand is universally “better,” they’re formulated a little differently, which makes each one suited to certain areas and textures. Your injector will recommend the brand that fits the area you’re treating and the look you’re going for, rather than defaulting to one across the board.

Temple filler is one of our most underrated treatments. As we age, the temples hollow out, and that hollowing is what makes the outer brow and eye area start to look like they’re dropping. Restoring that volume gives the brow structural support again, so you get a subtle lift without a single injection near your actual eyes or brow.

Yes, nasolabial folds, the lines that run from the corners of your nose down to your mouth, are one of the most common areas we treat with filler. As volume in the mid-face fades, those folds deepen, so restoring cheek and mid-face volume often softens them without even injecting the line directly.

Under-eye (tear trough) filler can soften hollowing and shadowing in the under-eye area, but it’s one of the more technique-sensitive treatments we offer, results depend heavily on your specific anatomy and how much hollowing versus puffiness is involved. It’s worth an honest consultation first, this is an area where the right call is sometimes a different treatment entirely, not filler.

Hand filler (sometimes called hand rejuvenation) restores volume lost over time, which softens the look of visible tendons and veins. It’s a quick treatment with no significant downtime.

Most clients describe it as mild discomfort or pressure rather than pain. We use topical numbing cream, distraction techniques, and can even provide a dental block for extra comfort, and since the filler itself has lidocaine mixed in, each injection numbs the area a little more as we go. Results typically last six months to a year depending on the product and how fast your body metabolizes it, with some swelling and light bruising in the first few days as the final shape settles in.

Cheek filler typically lasts twelve to eighteen months depending on the product and your metabolism, sometimes longer since it stimulates some collagen production along the way. Most clients don’t plan around a strict schedule, they just come back in when volume starts to soften.

Chin filler is non-surgical, reversible, and can be adjusted from one appointment to the next, which makes it the lower-commitment way to test out a stronger profile. A chin implant is a permanent surgical change, usually worth considering only once you already know exactly what you want. We only offer chin filler, and for most clients it delivers the balance they’re after without ever needing surgery.

Jawline filler typically lasts twelve to eighteen months, longer than softer areas like the lips, since it sits along the bone where there’s less movement to break it down. Results build as initial swelling settles, so the settled-in look usually shows about two weeks after treatment.

Radiesse is a collagen-stimulating filler that adds volume immediately while also triggering your body to build its own collagen over time, so it works two ways at once. Sculptra works more gradually and doesn’t add immediate volume the way Radiesse does. Which one fits depends on your goals, we’ll help you sort that out at a consultation.

Nefertiti Botox is a popular injection technique that targets the muscles along the jawline and neck bands rather than the upper face. It’s used to create a lifted, more defined jawline and smoother neck without surgery.

Masseter Botox is injected into the jaw muscle to relax it, which can slim a square or overly prominent jawline and ease jaw tension from teeth grinding or clenching.

Yes, Botox is FDA-approved for hyperhidrosis, or excessive sweating, and it works by temporarily blocking the nerve signals that trigger sweat glands. It’s commonly used for underarms but can be used elsewhere depending on your needs.

Yes. Botox and Dysport are both wrinkle relaxers with a similar mechanism, the main differences are onset time and how each one diffuses under the skin. Which one makes sense for you comes down to your goals and your injector’s recommendation, so we’ll talk through it at your consultation.

Availability varies by location and provider. Book a consultation and we’ll confirm what’s right for your goals and which of our injectors offers it.

The biggest factor isn’t the brand of filler, it’s the injector and the amount used. Our approach is always to enhance what’s already there rather than change it, which is why we start with a consultation instead of a set treatment plan.

Kybella is an injectable treatment that dissolves fat under the chin, commonly used for submental fullness (a “double chin”). It’s done as a series of treatments spaced weeks apart, with results building gradually as the treated fat cells clear from the body.

Yes, sclerotherapy is one of our injectable treatments for spider veins and small varicose veins. A solution is injected directly into the vein, which causes it to collapse and fade over the following weeks.

SkinVive is an injectable hyaluronic acid treatment designed specifically to improve skin smoothness and hydration from within, rather than adding volume like traditional filler. Think of it as a boost for overall skin quality, especially in areas like the cheeks and undereyes.

Microneedling, PDGF & PRFM

PDGF (platelet-derived growth factor) microneedling pairs traditional microneedling with a concentrated growth factor serum to boost collagen production and speed up healing. It’s one of our most-booked treatments for texture, tone, and overall skin quality.

The microneedling itself is identical, tiny channels created to trigger collagen production, the difference is what’s boosting it. PDGF is a lab-made serum, so it’s more concentrated, more stable, and doesn’t require a blood draw. PRFM comes from your own blood, so it takes a quick draw first, but taps directly into your own platelets and growth factors. Your provider can help you pick the better fit based on your skin and goals.

Most clients start noticing smoother texture and a brighter tone within a couple weeks, with fuller results building over the following month as collagen rebuilds. A series of treatments, spaced a few weeks apart, gives the most noticeable results.

Yes, microneedling is one of the most effective non-surgical treatments for acne scarring. It works by triggering collagen production in the treated area, which gradually softens the depth and appearance of scars over a series of sessions.

Yes, microneedling works well on the neck and chest too, both areas that show sun damage and texture changes just like the face does but often get skipped in a skincare routine. We can build a plan that treats all three together if that’s what your skin needs.

Yes, microneedling works well on the hands too. It boosts collagen and elastin production to improve skin quality and texture of the area. For best results, a series of treatments is recommended.

We use topical numbing beforehand, so most clients describe it as more uncomfortable than painful. It’s a short treatment with minimal downtime, some redness for a day or so is normal.

It depends on your skin goals, but a series of three sessions spaced about a month apart is a common starting point for texture, tone, and fine lines. We’ll build a plan around your skin at your consultation.

BBL & LASER TREATMENTS

BBL (BroadBand Light) uses light energy to target pigment, redness, and sun damage while stimulating collagen underneath the surface. It’s a go-to for sun spots, uneven tone, and that overall “glow” people chase.

Many clients see visible improvement after a single treatment, but a series of three, spaced about a month apart, tends to deliver the most complete results for tone and texture.

BBL works on the skin’s surface to target pigment and redness. Moxi is a fractional laser that goes a bit deeper to improve overall texture, fine lines, and pore size. Providers often combine the two depending on what a client’s skin needs.

BBL has little to no downtime, some redness that fades within a day. Moxi has a short recovery, usually a day or two of redness followed by few days of light flaking or a “speckled” effect as treated pigment comes to the surface.

Peels & Skin Resurfacing

A Jessner peel is a medium-depth chemical peel that combines different active acids to resurface the skin, fade discoloration, and improve texture in one treatment. It’s a step up from a lunchtime peel, with a few days of visible peeling as the new skin surfaces.

Also known as a “wet Microdermabrasion”. As the top layer of skin is gently swept away, the Dermasweep system delivers targeted infusions designed to improve common concerns like dullness, congestion, uneven texture, and dehydration. The treatment also includes professional extractions and a relaxing shoulder and neck massage, and it has no downtime, which makes it a popular pre-event treatment.

Most clients see visible flaking for about three to five days. We’ll recommend an aftercare routine to keep skin comfortable and protected while it heals.

Our Sal-X Plus Acne Peel uses 2o% salicylic acid to target acne, acne scars, hyperpigmentation, and dullness, making it a strong option for acne-prone skin. The peel stays on for 8 hours after your appointment, and we recommend a series of three, spaced about a month apart, for the best results.

Our dermaplaning facial is a 60-minute treatment that exfoliates dead skin and removes peach fuzz for instantly smoother skin. It includes a double cleanse, extractions, a biocellulose mask with LED, and an arm and hand massage, finished with serum, moisturizer, SPF, and lip gloss. Also known as ‘skin blading’.

With our Glass Skin Facial: a 75-minute treatment for that smooth, luminous, dewy look. It layers DermaSweep exfoliation, dermaplaning, enzyme exfoliation, LED LightStim light therapy, extractions, and a hand mask, finished with a calming serum, moisturizer, SPF, and lip gloss.

Sculptra, Sofwave & Skin Tightening

Sculptra is a collagen stimulator, it triggers your own body to rebuild collagen over time, strengthening the skin’s structural support to address thin skin, skin laxity, and crêpey texture. Results build gradually over a couple months and can last up to two years, which makes it a favorite for subtle, natural-looking volume restoration. As new collagen builds, overall skin quality improves too, texture, elasticity, and resilience all become noticeably healthier. We commonly use it in the cheeks, neck, temples, etc.

Sofwave uses ultrasound energy to tighten skin on the face and neck without surgery or downtime. Compared to other tightening treatments, it’s known for a more comfortable treatment experience with results that build over a few months as new collagen forms. We also offer Ultherapy, another non-surgical, ultrasound-based tightening treatment that works at a different depth, your provider can help you decide which is the better fit at a consultation.

It depends on the depth and type of spot, but BBL/Moxi Laser, chemical peels like Jessner’s or depigmentation peel (a more intensive take home peel), are the most common treatments we use for sun damage and pigmentation. A consultation lets us look at your specific skin and recommend the right combination.
